I had my first real time warp experience this past week. Nick's grandmother passed early Monday morning so we spent the middle of the week in Ottawa. During the viewing Ben and the other little kids got a little restless. Luckily the funeral home had a small tv with a built in VCR and a nice choice of movies in the downstairs area. Of course it was a little odd since I hadn't seen one of those in quite a few a years, but I haven't forgotten how to use it, except none of the videos were rewound and I couldn't find the rewind button. Then I noticed the VCR rewinder under the tv, been at least 10 years since I'd seen one of those. The punchline to this story was when I was taking the video out and putting it in the rewinder, one of Ben's cousins, she's six, looked at me and said "what are you doing?" with a confused look on her face.

Now I think I know how my parents felt about their eight tracks and beta disks.

Not much of a meet and greet

Not much of a meet and greet this week. As previously stated, Ben was sick this week and then Nick had an infection in his big toe. We spent Friday night at his mom's house so he could pick up his engine stand and I spent Saturday night nursing a sick glider. Sadly, Oscar didn't make it. The other two are doing fine, which makes it just kinda weird. So the camera hasn't been out very much. Although Nick is having fun trying to get a picture of me NOT giving an obscene gesture as I'm on the WII.

Ben does like his ravioli. Of course on those nights, it's straight into the tub.

I don't think I like winter

Winter is officially here and I don't think I like it. It is hardest on certain populations more than others, a known fact.

This winter is being a little harder on my family. Nick lost an uncle just last week and my grandfather just passed. I'll be leaving for Idaho soon, I'm still waiting to get the details. Needless to say, I wish I didn't have to make this trip. I'd rather he was still here.
