OY, that's all I can say right now. Halloween was fun and the kids got their candy, pictures will follow. The next event for us is a wedding in a little under 2 weeks that will give Nick and I a night away since Grammie is coming out to watch the kids and dogs.

The dogs, now that's one I'm grumbling about a little bit right now. I waited a
little too long in scheduling Myra's surgery to take out the puppy factory, so yeah she went into heat Halloween also. Thank God we kept the bigger size diapers from Ben and the fact that Myra doesn't have a tail. She is currently running around with an honest to God baby diaper on. Apparently Ayla has something against Myra wearing one because the two doggie diapers I bought the first night she has taken off her and I haven't found them yet. I also learned that while vets will fix a cat in heat most will not do a dog in heat because of increased risk. So we get to deal with her first (and ONLY) heat then wait 30 days after the bleeding stops before we can get her fixed. If I ever get another female, their first stop will be the vets to get the factory taken out.

I feel like I'm almost ready to take the first of the written exams for my certification and it looks like I may be able to do them at Purdue. I still have to make contact to make sure I'm ready it right, but that makes one more thing taken care of. I still don't know which route would be best for the practicals, since doing the school and timing it right would put me in South Carolina in the summer.

Onto the pictures--------

Ben's preschool had a little party on Halloween. This face was just too funny not to share. Yes, Ben decided he wanted to be a policeman for Halloween.

Having his snacks.

Ayla got to go since I didn't want to take time from my amount at daycare. She did really good and got some treats. I was so impressed that she had a Capri-Sun and didn't make a mess!

Our little lamb...........

Who wanted nothing to do with the head thing. So she got pigtails instead.

He loved his walkie talkie. Ayla wasn't too sure of what was going on.

Off we go. I'm going to have to talk to Nick about shooting angles.

A successful night. The funny part was we came home because Ben was done, Ayla wanted to keep going!

Let's see how far I can get before Ayla decides she's done with her puffs.

We visited some family friends and they had a puppy. Ben was quite fond of said puppy.

Ayla wasn't as fond of Monet.

Lunch at Five Guys was interesting. Not only was Ayla insistent on sharing my food, Ben dropped his drink and created a red pool and my mom eventually had to hold Ayla so I could eat.

My dad found out that I wasn't kidding when I called Ayla a frosting thief. He soon had his hands full trying to keep her hands out of his ice cream bowl.

Ayla is done with her puffs and I just realized I still have to get the carrier out of the attic to take Loki to the vet. Will pick it up again soon.

And the total now is

3 cats, 1 dog, 3 Sugar Gliders, a 55 Fresh,a 14 Salt water, and a toddler.
This is Loki's latest adventure. I kept telling her she was going to fall, but she had to keep trying to fit under our computer monitor. She was just lucky Nick was home and could pull her out. I would have had to move the whole desk.

Our new couch potato. I asked Nick if we were going to let him on the furniture, I guess you can see his answer.

Ben and Simba's first encouter at home. He is really tolerate of Ben. Of course the really cute ones happened too quick to get the camera.

He just walked over and twisted his head and laid it on my shoulder. Can't get much cuter puppywise.

Hopefully I'll be able to get him into the vet today. My real concern is Giardia AKA Beaver piss disease, because the species barrier does not apply to that one, meaning if he has it, it can be passed to us and it doesn't show up on a regular fecal (ewwww terms I know).

So I've got quite a day ahead of me and I have to wait until the vet opens to get started. But I got this out early for once!

Welcome Simba

We have a new member to our family. This is Simba, he's about 2 years old and a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever mix. Man, that's a mouthfull. This is a picture from the Humane Society, not our house.

We filled out an application for him yesterday and we actually didn't have a lot of hope since there was already one application for him. But since they have so many adoptions fall through for whatever reason, they take up to 2 application for each dog. So apparently about an hour after I went to work today Nick gets a call saying Simba is ours and we can pick him up today or Tuesday. So I was surprised to get home and Nick and Ben were gone then they come in with a dog!

So far the cats have taken one look at him and refused to leave our bedroom. Ben and Simba seen to be getting along. He is proving to be a real cuddle bum.

First order of business tomorrow is make an appointment with the vet and then see if I can get Ben into daycare for a few hours so I can take Simba to work and give him a bath and a trim.

I'll try to have more pictures up for Monday. We've taken some and Nick can't remember where he put the camera down at.

Today, I think I'll do the other creatures that live with us. Since we do share our home with a number of them. The first one is Oscar, my male sugar glider. He was the first one I got and currently is the biggest since I had him neutered. Climbing up and down people is a past time when he's out.

This is Ava, AKA Little fluff. She's the last cat we got, she's only 2 years old and only 5 pounds. She's the one currently locked in the bathroom waiting for the vet to open. She's probably got another UTI and hopefully I can just a refill and not have to take her in, but you do what you gotta do and this was part of the responsibility of animal ownership.

This one is Loki, my first kitty. I got her about a month after I moved out of my parents house. She's 5 and about 11 and half pounds. She knows she's queen of this castle and will let you know it.

Alex, our big boy. He's down to 13-14 pounds but is a really LOOOONG cat. He's four years old and will do what Loki wants, if she says it bath time, it's bath time. When he stands up and stretches, he can reach my belly button.

These are my girls, Angie and Josie. Angie is on top, she's the mother and Josie is the daughter of Oscar and Angie (see why Oscar got snipped). They keep life interesting and I've actually been about to train Alex and Loki that they are NOT something to play with.

Well, that's everyone except the fish. But pictures of aquariums aren't all that easy to get. Hopefully Ava will be able to be let out of the bathroom soon.
