Voting....Oofta

Well, I voted yesterday and all I can say is along the lines of oi vey or oofta. Now many SAHM know what I'm talking about here. How long can you keep the kids occupied is a line that is several hours long? I decided that it just wasn't going to happen with a 9 month old if the lines were really long on Tuesday. Lucky me, my mother in law came out to visit for the weekend and we have early voting here.

So Nick and I went a little before they opened and the line was already out the building, down the sidewalk and curving around the pond. So we get there around 1 and we didn't our votes cast until right before 4, 3 hours in line! And with everything I'm hearing it's expected to be crazy on Tuesday (since either way it goes, history will be made), I'm glad we got it done yesterday. On a side note, while waiting in line I thought it would have been neat if they had had one of the many youth groups selling soda or snacks.

So what are moms supposed to do if their kids aren't really old enough to entertain themselves that long? I'm not sure. I'm still new to this game. But I wish everyone luck in getting to the polls. Remember this election will be one for the history books.

We had to drive and hour and a half to vote b/c we didn't change our address. Oops. And then we stood in line for 2 hrs 40 min. Our kids, though, were with friend we had in that area. I highly recommend that solution. Highly.

I did see kids there, though. And I saw empty Halloween candy wrappers EVERYWHERE. Just putting two and two together, here... :-) That'd be another solution.
