Ok plea over. I made my first quilt. As you can tell by the picture, Nick thought it was so funny watching me hand sew the last part, he had to take pictures. It wasn't that hard, especially since it was a kit. But I'm quite proud of myself.
A broad veiw of the finished project as a whole.
I also discovered that when you start sewing you ALWAYS have to have a project going. I asked my sewing guru, AKA my mother, and her explanation was that without one your life just isn't complete. It works for me. I've already started planning my next as it's already changed.
I started out planning to make another quilt, just something to have around. But that has since changed to making a bed set for Ben. I picked out some Illini fabric and some fleece for the quilt, but as I said it's changed. Nick has opinions and ideas and I know he's encouraging me. Just now I have to figure out what to do with the fabric I already have. I plan on using a panel for the back of Ben's quilt/comforter, so the cotton fabric can be the other side. I just don't know if having two busy patterns on one side would be too much (leaning toward yes too much). So can you make pillowcases out of fleece? Oh or make some small throw pillows! That's an idea right?
Oy, I've got some time to figure it all out.

It looks like it's including your first sentence in the picture code. I don't use blogger anymore, but there has to be a way to get to the HTML version of your post. After you post your picture, go to the HTML version, enter a couple spaces before the picture code and write your first sentence. Enter a couple spaces after the code to write your second. You should be able to write your post in the non-HTML version after that. Annoying, but it's the only thing I can think of to get around the underlining. I don't know much about code or why it would be doing this is the first place...
*Now that I've actually finished reading the post*
I can't believe you're quilting. I bought a sewing machine when we moved into this duplex and I've yet to use it. Helps that it's buried in the closet as I don't have room for a sewing/craft table. I have saved some old scraps with great ambitions to make cute little things from them (I've seem the CUTEST crafts online and they make them look so EASY). But it's like I just get the dining room table cleared from one meal and it's time to set it for another. :-\
It helps we don't use our table sometimes. Even when we do I can still have half covered in stuff. But then I have to protect my projects from cats who one has an addiction to thread/yarn and another who just likes to fight with fabric ;)
I will try to remeber to tell you how i deal with it next time we talk
