New one

We have a new development in the kid department, Night Terrors. Yup the wake up screaming like someone's after you Night Terrors. Ben's had 2 instances this month and last night was the worst. It took us an hour to calm him down and then he woke up every hour screaming.

From what I've read on the internet and talking to a lot of people, it runs in families and Nick and his uncle had them, and there isn't much we can do. All you can really do is deal with them when they happen. Of course that doesn't help much when it's 2 in the morning and your baby is screaming so bad you think the neighbors are going to call CPS on you.

I'll be talking to the doctor about it at Ben's next appointment, but there probably won't be a whole lot they can tell me.

I heard from a doctor who spoke at MOPS that night terrors usually happen at the same time of night, because they happen at the same point in the sleep cycle. So if you notice this happening w/ Ben, you may be able to avoid them by waking him up 15 minutes before he usually has them. You'll interrupt the cycle and hopefully avoid the terrors altoghether! Beside that, sadly, there's not much you can do. :-(
