Happy First Birthday Ben

Here's Ben after he decided the dust mop was a toy. Now if only he could use it properly.

Ben's cake. Normally he wouldn't have a problem diving into his food, but of course since he was allowed to it wasn't any fun.

He's figuring out the whole concept of unwrapping things.

And the theme for this birthday was --- MONKEYS!!
Isn't that the cutest cake you've seen? Grammy made it, thank god because most of us know if I had tried it wouldn't have turned out so nice.

This has been a busy time around here. I start my new job next Wednesday and Ben starts daycare next week too. Both Ben and Nick caught something this weekend but it looks like it comes and goes pretty quick. It seems to have (knock on wood) skipped me this time.

We'll see ya around

Happy birthday, Ben! Wow, those cakes look amazing! I've never put forth the effort to make a character cake, or even a separate cake for the birthday kid! *I* never had a separate cake growing up... :-P But I've noticed more people do that now-a-days than don't...

What all did he get?

It was more having a cake for him to dive into and destroy. He got a lot of clothes some cute toys, you know the dog you pull on string and it barks and what not. One of the things he got said in big print "95% assembled" I guess they really didn't want to put Some Assembly Required on it.
